National Security Exhibition Gallery

The "National Security Exhibition Gallery" in Hong Kong has officially opened to the public, with the stated goal of fostering patriotism and raising awareness about national security. The gallery is particularly controversial as some think that it only tells the government's side of the story.

One of the exhibition staff told visitors, that democratic protestors during the 2019 social movements were "rioters" who "deserve punishments". The exhibition also claimed that the 2019 protests were planned by "foreign forces" intended to subvert the Chinese state, and are "a permanent scar on Hong Kong's history".
