Paris Heatwave 2026

Paris is sweltering through an extreme heatwave, with temperatures nearing 40°C and the capital placed under a red heat alert.

Along Canal Saint-Martin, young people gathered to cool off, swimming in the water and climbing onto bridges before jumping into the canal. Police officers monitored access to the bridges as crowds lined the banks.
